Edward “Red” Gaulin, 77, of Worcester passed away Friday, June 2nd at home after being stricken ill. Red was born in Worcester, a son of Francis and Edith (Mercurio) Gaulin. He grew up and lived in the Shrewsbury Street Area all his life and attended Worcester Public Schools. Red then accepted a position with the City of Worcester, Department of Public Works where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring. Edward’s two sisters, Lucille Delconte and Helen Gaulin pre deceased him. He is survived by his three nephews who watched over him and were more like sons to Red; Paul Jarvis and his wife Anita, and Robert Delconte and his companion Mary Wynn and John Hayes; two great nephews, Christopher and Nicholas; a niece Deanna; Other extended family members and friends. Edward a simple man whom lived a quiet life, loved the Big Band Music era, collecting avid oldies records and in his youth to Candlepin Bowl. He was also a history buff, loved animals and at onetime met President Harry Truman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 7th at 11:00 am in The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME *& CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am prior to the start of the service.
