Helen (Kus) Laganelli, 95, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Beaumont of Worcester. Her loving husband, Bart Laganelli, predeceased her in 1990. Helen is survived by her loving children, Carolyn Minahan and her husband Bernard of Moultonboro, NH, formerly of Shrewsbury, and Bart Laganelli and his wife Cheryl of Holden; six grandchildren, Daniel Minahan and his wife Lisa of Londondery, NH, Katie LeBlanc and her husband Matthew of Holden, Alison Brunault and her husband Eric of Jefferson, Jason Laganelli and his wife Sarah of Clinton, Melissa Inthirath and her husband Kham of Northbridge, and Jeffrey Laganelli of Holden; twelve great grandchildren, Jack, Ashleigh, Ryan, Avery, Andrew, Grace, Liam, Eva, Nathan, Addison, Jonathan, and Charlotte; nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her siblings, Chester Kus, Emil Kus, Theodore Kus, Edwin Kus, Jenny, Jurgelewicz, and Mary Milas. She was born in Lawrence, MA, daughter of the late, Anthony and Stefania (Ujek) Kus; she grew up in Webster, later moving to Worcester in 1946, when she married her beloved Bart. Helen loved her family and always enjoyed anytime they got together, especially the Wednesday night suppers. She enjoyed BINGO, “The Wonder of It All”, and was a member of Mount Carmel Golden Years group. Helen also enjoyed travelling to Florida, her trip to Italy and times spent at Lake Winnipesauke in New Hampshire. Helen had a smile and kind word for everyone, but it was the love of family, specifically the bright lights of her life, her grand and great grandchildren, that brought her the greatest happiness. Calling Hours for Helen will be held on Friday morning, May 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession departing at 10:40a .m. for an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester.
