Richard C. Agbey, Sr. 70, a resident of Cherry Valley for 42 years, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the comfort of his home with his family by his side. Richard was born in Worcester, a son to the late Fay J. and Lucy (Germaine) Agbey. He worked as a pressman for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette for over 45 years retiring in 2007. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister for 13 years. Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Elaine A. (Shattuck) Agbey; his two sons, Richard C. Agbey, Jr. and his wife Liz of Worcester and John H. Agbey of Cherry Valley; his two daughters, Renee Agbey of Auburn and Kristen Agbey of Cherry Valley; a sister Marie Gaunt of Worcester; four grandchildren, Jack, Tyler, Morgan and Brody; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Donald Agbey and a sister, Helen Agbey. Richard’s family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Ambulatory Center for their care and compassion and how you touched their family in their time of need. Relatives and friends are invited to gather with his family on what would have been Richard’s 71st birthday, Friday, May 26, 2017 from 10-11 am with his funeral mass to begin immediately at 11:00 am in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester.
