Michael A Macaruso, Jr.

August 20, 1954 — May 6, 2017

Michael A. Macaruso, Jr. 62, of Worcester, a fun loving friend to all passed away Saturday, May 6th 2017 after complications of COPD.  Michael is survived by his mother, Josephine (Vescera) Macaruso, Tomasetta;  a sister, Linda Ann Marcaurso-Amorello and a brother Robert Macaruso and his wife Francy all of Worcester;  two nephews and a niece, Robert J. Amorello, Christina Amorello, and  Robert  Anthony Macaruso; an uncle, Bart Versera; Many cousins, extended family members and friends.   Born in Worcester, Michael was young child when his father the late Michael A. Macaruso, Sr. passed away.  He later became close with his stepfather Rudy Tomasetta who also passed away in 1998. Michael graduated from North High School, and worked many years as an ironworker for the Iron Workers Union, for notable construction companies Carabetta, Amorello, and Com Gas.  Michael lately worked as a route driver for the ADCARE Company.  Michael loved the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying the quiet simple days of fishing Bell Pond, saltwater, deep-sea and fresh water spots.   He was also an outstanding athlete, playing football for the Shrewsbury St Merchants of the Worcester Parks league.   A jokester with a great sense of humor, Michael was always making people laugh.  Every room he entered would light up with the sight of Michael.  He was also very handy and would tinker able to fix anything that needed it.   A friend to all, Michael will be greatly missed. Funeral services and burial with his father will be held privately.  There are no calling hours, In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in his name may be made to the activities fund, care of the Golden Living Center, the hermitage, 383 Mill St Worcester 01603.   The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
