“Felix (TATO) was a shining light to all and a leader” Felix L. Burgos (TATO), 64 of Worcester, MA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 6, 2017 at Saint Vincent Hospital, with his beloved family by his side. Felix leaves his loving wife of over 43 years Rosa M. (Rodriguez) Burgos, six children, Felix G. Burgos of Worcester, Luis J. Burgos of CT, Sheila M. Burgos of Worcester, Felix S. Burgos of Worcester, Abied K. Burgos of Worcester and Keniel S. Burgos of Worcester, thirteen grandchildren, five brothers, five sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Efigenio and Maria Burgos and two brothers. Felix was born on August 14, 1952 in Villalba, P.R. where he was raised and attended school. Felix married the love of his life, Rosa M. (Rodriguez) Burgos on July 21, 1973. Together they raised their family, eventually moving to Worcester in 1997. Felix managed La Muebleria Italiana furniture store for over 15 years, and also worked at Muebleria Waldemar. However, his true life calling was pastoring and serving God. Felix lived his life to serve God and help his fellow man. He was an Ordained Minister, and a Church Pastor. He was a member at La Iglesia Pentecostal M.I. Inc. and he served as the Missionary President helping those in need and spreading God’s love. He was involved in many ministries professing the word of God including prisons where he served as a Chaplain. True to his Puerto Rican heritage, Felix loved to play dominos with his friends and family. He also was an avid New England sports fan, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. Every day was a chance to learn something new, and he never gave up his pursuit of knowledge. Felix’s passion was helping people by offering prayers or lending a helping hand. He was a great father, and a fun and loving grandfather. He will be truly missed, but never forgotten by his family and friends. A period of visitation will be held for Felix on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, MA, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He’ll be flown to Puerto Rico where a memorial service will be held at a later time with his family and friends at La Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal M.I. Inc. in La Vega, Villalba, P.R. and he’ll be laid to rest at Cementerio Municipal de Villalba next to La Metronic.
