Robert L. Frederickson, 84 of Worcester passed away peacefully Monday, May 8th 2017 after a period of declining health. Robert was born in Worcester, on September 8, 1932, the son of Joseph L. and Emma (Ek) Frederickson. He graduated from Commerce High School. Robert then joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country proudly during the Korean War aboard the USS Sage. Upon his discharge Robert earned his associates degree from Worcester Junior College. He then accepted a position with Morgan Construction in the Electrical Engineering department and later as a Cost Control Analyst where he worked until retiring. In retirement, Robert, joined WCCA-TV 13 as a program technician and remained there for the next 10 years. The “Love of his life” June (Dangredo) Frederickson passed away in 1985. He is survived by his three children, Lynne-Ann Frederickson- Bonnici and her husband Chris of Shrewsbury, James R. Frederickson and his wife Marylee of Worcester, Michael J. Frederickson and his wife Susan of Shrewsbury; a sister, Shirley Schultzberg of Uxbridge; six grandchildren he cherished, Amanda, Kevin, Daniel, Jillian, S. Enzo and Enrico; Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Robert was an avid ten pin bowler, and member of the Morgan Bowling League, Morgan Retirees Association and Worcester Senior Center. He loved the outdoors, and was an avid walker; Robert on most days could be found on the walking track of Lake Park. He was also Boston Sports fan, especially the Red Sox and New England Patriots. In Robert’s life, his wife, children and especially his grandchildren were most important, and being around them were his proudest moments. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Sunday, May 14th 2017, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Monday, May 15th from the funeral home with a procession to St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd, Shrewsbury, where his celebration of life Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial with U.S. Navy honors will follow in All Faiths Cemetery in Worcester, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, Holden St Worcester or St Anne’s Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Shrewsbury, MA.
