Grace Locantore Almonte

Grace (Locantore Braio) Almonte, 92, of Jefferson died peacefully on Saturday April 22, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her devoted husband of 70 years John R. Almonte Sr., her loving children John Almonte Jr. and his companion Kathryn O’Leary, and Marilyn Downey. Grace was the proud grandmother to Kathleen Downey, Thomas Downey and his fiancé  Vickie Atwater, Rebecca Groccia and  her husband Jarrett, and Michael Almonte and his wife Lisa. Grace also leaves her great grandchildren Lilliana and Sophia Groccia, and Natalie and Melanie Almonte, she also leaves her brother Anthony Locantore and his companion Marie Levanti, and several nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces. Grace was predeceased by her siblings, brothers; Nunzio, Vito, Dominic, and Rocky Locantore, and her sisters Mary and Vera Locantore, Carmella Cammuso, and Vincenza (Chin) Pultorak. Grace was born in Worcester daughter of the late Joseph and Addorlorata (Parisi) Locantore. She was adopted by her uncle and aunt Simeon and Grace Braio at the age of 5 after her the death of her Mother. She and John have lived in Jefferson for many years. Being the traditional Italian Mother, Grace loved being a Homemaker, she enjoyed Cooking and especially for the Holidays when her family was all around her. She enjoyed traveling with her Golden Years friends, and was an enthusiastic Celtics fan. She was a faithful Family Feud fan where she always got a kick out of Steve Harvey! but her most treasured times were when she was with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Grace will be terribly missed by her family and friends.  Grace was a life time member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann and its Golden Years Club. She was also a member of the Women’s Guild. Grace’s funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday April 26, at 11:15AM in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto. 33 Massasoit Rd. Worcester, MA. CALLING HOURS WILL BE HELD FROM 9AM TO 11AM IN OUR LADY OF LORETO CHURCH. Interment will be in St Johns Cemetery.
