Sarah M. Erricola

Sarah M. (Rafferty) Erricola of Worcester, MA went to be with the Lord on Friday April 21, 2017. Sarah was born in Worcester the daughter of James &Anne Rafferty on November 5, 1929.  She grew up in Worcester and graduated from Ascension High School.  She married Robert D. Erricola on April 12, 1955 and had three loving children.  She worked alongside her husband who owned several businesses in Worcester and then worked at UMass Hospital for many years until she retired.  Sarah and her husband loved traveling all thru Europe and spending summers at their Cape Cod home.  She loved spending time with her family and friends especially all her grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed.  Her husband Robert predeceased her in 1993.  She leaves her 3 children Richard Erricola and his wife Linda of Millbury, Elizabeth Buduo of West Boylston and Robert Erricola and his wife Leslie of Beverly, MA; Seven grandchildren Anthony, Vincent, Julia, Nikki, Lucia Buduo, Robert Buduo & Brianna Buduo and many loving nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by 5 brothers, Owen, Raymond, James, Edward and Arthur Rafferty and 4 sisters, Anna Sarasin, Rita Lavallee, Mary Attella, and Barbara Jacques.  She is also survived by Richard Rafferty and his wife Joanne of Sutton, her brother in law Jack Jacques, and sister in law Josie Rafferty. The family would like to thank all her caregivers especially Aunt Josie, Kathy, and Rosalina for making the last year of her life as pleasant as could be. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017 at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral cortege will process from the funeral home to Saint John’s Catholic Church, 44 Temple St, Worcester, MA for an 11:30 a.m. celebration of Sarah’s Mass of Christian Burial and then to Saint John’s Cemetery for final committal services.
