Benjamin W-P Smith, 20 a vibrant fun loving sweet young man passed away unexpectedly Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, joining in heaven his father Walter R. Smith who passed away in 2001 when Ben was a 5 year old child. Ben will be forever loved and missed by his mother, Kelley J. (Pike) Smith and his step father Robert Levins; his sister and best friend, Tara J. Cronin, all with whom he lived; a brother Joshua D. Smith his wife Nicole, nephews Carter and Mason Smith of West Boylston; a stepbrother and two step sisters; Randy LeBeau Cheryl LeBeau and Chole Levins; his maternal grandmother, Anne Clark and her husband Curtis of Florida, paternal grandmother, Caroll A. Campbell and her husband Jack of Auburn; many Aunts and Uncles; all of his cousins including Trisha Pike and Talexa O’Leary with whom he was very close. His close friends Franky Lil Jimmy James and his girlfriend Jessica; many other extended family members and friends. He is also pre-deceased by his maternal grandfather, William C. Pike; paternal grandfather Paul A. Smith Benjamin was born in Worcester on June 5, 1996. He grew up in Rutland and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 2015. As a teenager, high school student and most recently young man he worked for a man he thought of as a second father, Gary Sclamo of Sclamo Appliances as a warehouse manager and repair technician. Ben was a sweet loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He loved his dogs Casey P Nut Maggie and Angel. His passion was for the outdoors, especially fishing, off roading, mudding, 4 wheeling, boating, jet skiing and all water sports. He was an accomplished technician who could disassemble, reassemble and fix anything that needed repair. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Tuesday, April 25, from 4 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St and again on Wednesday morning from 11 am to 12 noon. His funeral service will be held at 12 noon at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
