Paula A. Altif, 55, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Paula was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with her children, siblings and especially her three granddaughters; her strong faith in family kept them grounded over the years through life's challenges. She was dedicated to ensuring her children were raised with love, devotion, and opportunity. She was also a fantastic “Sito” babysitting whenever she was needed and dotting on her “girls” whenever she could. Her granddaughters were an inspiration in her life and she found great joy and pride with them at her side. Paula had a generous heart and donated a good portion of her time and resources to helping others beyond her family volunteering with the St Anne’s Church Human Services. She truly believed that helping others less fortunate was important. Paula always had a heart of gold and generous amount of love. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will not be forgotten. Paula worked for the UMass Memorial Healthcare University campus many years before retiring due to illness. Beyond her family, Paula also enjoyed the beaches of Cape Cod, Rhode Island and Florida it brought her peace and tranquility. Her other hobbies included shopping, decorating and fashion. She was always stylish in her dressing and very fashion forward in her thinking. She always made sure all was in place when she went out. She is survived by the family she cherished, her two sons, John Altif, his wife Colleen whom she thought of as a daughter and their daughter Kennedy Altif of Shrewsbury, Adam LaMarche and his daughters Cameron and Kylie LaMarche of Worcester; a sister, Jameeli Wozniak and her husband Steven Wozniak of Auburn; three brothers, David Altif, Thomas Altif and his wife Tedi, and Ralph Altif and his wife Pam all of Worcester; 4 nieces, 1 nephew. A brother, Mark Altif passed away in 1992. Paula was born and raised in Worcester, one of six children of Antoon “Jido" and Anne Marie (Pellon) Altif and has lived in Worcester all her life. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Tuesday, April 18th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, April 19th from the funeral home with a procession to the Church of St. Anne, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury where her life celebration Mass will be held at 10:00 am.
