Carol A. (Smith) Sargentelli, 73 of Worcester, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 6, 2017 with her family there by her side. Carol was born in Worcester, one of six children of Joseph Smith, Sr. and Jane C. (Stencel) Smith. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade School and began a career in Cosmetology. Carol later accepted a position as a Customer Service Representative for Paul Revere Insurance where she worked for over 16 years before retiring. In 1965, Carol married Louis J. Sargentelli, Jr. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and began a 34 year marriage raising their family, until 1999 when Louis passed away from Cancer. Carol is survived by her children, Michael A. Sargentelli and his wife Cynthia of Spencer, and Lisa M. Sargentelli of Worcester; three sisters, Janet M. Smith of Upton, Joan E. Going of Auburn, Paula J. Army and her husband Bernard of Grafton; four grandchildren, Twins, Amanda and Nicole DeLuca, Benjamin Deluca and John Sargentelli; An Uncle Ronald Smith and Aunt, Irene Ohrn and her husband Carl; Many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Carol was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, the Independent Order of Forresters, and Transplant Recipient International Organization. Carol enjoyed traveling with Louis, crocheting and Bingo. Nothing was more important in Carol’s life than having her family together for Holidays, Family Dinners and special occasions. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family (TODAY) Friday, April 7th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Saturday, April 8th from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances in her name can be made to National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave, Norwood, MA 02062.
