Jane A. (Coomey) Maguire, a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who devoted her life to love and family passed away peacefully Friday, March 31, 2017 at home after 93 years of life. Jane was born in Worcester, one of four children of John J and Anna C. (Cummiskey) Coomey. She graduated from Commerce High School and went to work in the offices of Brockelman Brothers Market as a Comptometer operator. She met and then married Robert D. Maguire beginning a 58 year marriage of love, family and devotion until Robert passed away in 2010. Jane continued to live in her home with the dedication and help of her children. Jane is survived by her faithful children, Patrick J. Maguire and his wife Gail of Dudley, Michael F. Maguire and his wife Betty of Hopedale, Dennis R. Maguire and his wife Carol of Shrewsbury, Joan E. Maguire with whom she lived, Katherine E. Krikorian of Southbridge and Mary J. Maguire of Rutland; a brother, William E. Coomey in New York; four grandchildren she cherished, Keith Krikorian, Katelyn Krikorian and her partner, David Shepard, Victoria and Matthew Maguire; a great granddaughter Kayla Shepard; Nieces, nephews and extended family members. Besides her husband Robert, Jane was pre deceased by a brother, John J.P. Coomey and sister, Elizabeth B. Sullivan. Jane was a member of the former St Margaret Mary Church and its women’s guild, now St Anne’s Church. She had a special devotion to her Irish catholic faith attending Mass whenever she could, watching the mass on television when she couldn’t get out and for years, saying the rosary for each of her children daily. Her determination and will of family to live with overwhelming love and support of her children helped her through life. Jane loved taking care of people, her children and grandchildren, the neighborhood children and her neighbors. She was there always to help others in need. Special moments in Janes life, were the holidays, special occasions, her grandchildren’s activities and family dinners are just a few of the many times in her life that made her happy and content. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and trips to Hampton Beach in the summer. Jane and Bob enjoyed their weekly Saturday night "Date nights". Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Tuesday, April 4th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, April 5, from the funeral home with a procession to St Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Shrewsbury where her celebration of life mass will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
