Ann Autorino, 95, of Montclair, New Jersey, formerly of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully at Mountainside Hospital on March 22, 2017. Born May 26, 1921, at home, in Worcester, MA she was the daughter of the late Maria and Maurizio Mercadante. After graduating from high school Ann worked in retail. She also enjoyed the role of assistant to her brother Pasquale’s magic act, at one time performing for Henry Cabot Lodge. She married and became a stay-at-home mother, raising three sons with her husband in Montclair, NJ. For many years she then worked as the food director for the Immaculate Conception schools in Montclair, retiring at age 80. She was noted for cooking big wonderful Italian dinners for family occasions and holidays. More than anything, Ann loved and was loved and cherished by her large family. She delighted in spending time with all of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 74 years Arthur Autorino; her sons Arthur and his wife Georgia, of Eastham, MA, and Robert and his wife Patricia of North Caldwell, NJ; grand children; Alexandra Autorino Palek and her husband Paul, Samantha Gogerty and her husband Robert, John Autorino, Molly Autorino Krawczyk and her husband Steven, Amelia Autorino and Jamie Autorino; great grand children Jaden, Jaclyn, Lucas and Nicholas Krawczyk, Quinn Palek and Rhea Gogerty; sister Jean Tait and many nieces and nephews. Her son Jack Autorino and brothers Pasquale, Rocco and Louis Mercadante predeceased her. Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 26th from 2:00 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Caggiano Memorial Home, caggianomemorial.com, 62 Grove Street, Montclair. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 27th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa’s of Calcutta - Church of the Immaculate Conception, 30 North Fullerton Ave. Montclair, interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair.
