Joseph P. DiLiddo, Sr., 80 of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born in Worcester, a son to the late Vincent and Josephine (Formicone) DiLiddo. He lived here his whole life. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys’ Trade and shortly after he graduated he served his country in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. Joseph worked as a Glazier for Baroni Glass for 10 years retiring in 1982. He also worked part-time at Trippi’s Cleaners for many years. Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Men’s Biscegliese Society, the East Side Improvement Club, the Italian American Veterans Club Post 3, and the United States Army Honor Guard. In his spare time, Joseph enjoyed cooking, bingo, and going to the casino. Joseph’s wife of 49 years, Martha D. (Saksa) DiLiddo passed away on October 26, 2006. He is survived by a brother, Vincent DiLiddo and his wife Dottie of Boylston; his brother-in-law, Joseph Kirby; his son, Joseph P. DiLiddo, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Charlton; his two daughters, Julie Caputo and her husband James of Worcester and Donna DeMalia of Port Orange, FL; six grandchildren, Dana Ferrer and her husband Ruben of Mashpee, Amanda Cote of Keene, NH, James Caputo of San Francisco, CA, Kelly Caputo of Spencer, Jacqueline and Michael DeMalia both of Edgewater, FL; four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his friend, Rosemary Cipro. He is predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and John DiLiddo; two sisters, Angelina Olson and Elizabeth Kirby. Services for Joseph will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11:30 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd., Worcester. Burial with military funeral honors will follow at East Thompson Cemetery, Thompson, CT. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 21st from 4-6 pm in the funeral home.
