Lois A. (Squillante) Ward, 74, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017, at UMass Hospital in Worcester. Lois is survived by her son, Kenneth A. Ward and his wife Joan of Shrewsbury, and their children, Elise and Kyra Ward; two sisters, Susanne Chiaverini of Randolph, NJ, and Arnelle Fuller of Fulton, NY; nieces and nephews. Her husband, Harold Ward, Jr., predeceased her in 2011. Lois was born in New York City, daughter of the late, Arnold and Concetta (DiDomenico) Squillante. She grew up in Manhattan and Ardsley, New York, later moving to Dobbs Ferry, New York in the 1960’s, to raise her family. She later settled in Shrewsbury in 1999.While living in the New York area, she graduated from Westchester Community College, and worked as a medical lab technician for various hospitals in the New York metropolitan area. Lois enjoyed socializing and attended church at Saint Anne’s in Shrewsbury and at Saint John’s in Worcester. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a warm and loving person, with a wonderful smile and “infectious” laugh. Calling Hours for Lois will be held on Tuesday, March 21, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., when her Funeral Service will begin in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
