Domenic W. DeProspo Jr., 87 of Worcester, formerly New York City passed away Friday, March 10th 2017. Domenic was born in Worcester, February 23, 1930, a son of Italian immigrants Domenic W. DeProspo, Sr. and Theresa (Bruciano) DeProspo. He graduated from Commerce High School. Then he joined the U.S. Army serving his country proudly in Germany. Domenic was then discharged in New York, and visited New York City. Finding comfort and attraction to the City; Domenic began working in various positions before accepting a position with American Airlines where he worked for the next 35 years retiring in 1985 as Food Service Supervisor. Domenic lived for over 60 years in New York City notably Central Park West and traveled the World before returning to Worcester. Domenic’s life partner James Denneghy passed away in 2002. He is survived by, nieces and nephews; including Ronald and Cheryl, Peter and Pamela DeProspo and their families who cared for him as children would their father. Two brothers, Francis DeProspo and Rocco “Rocky” DeProspo and his wife Frances “Chic”; two sisters, Camille DeProspo and Helen Magrino all pre deceased him. In New York, Domenic found all things New York special; He loved taking his nephews and nieces to Broadway, Central park, restaurants and New York Attractions. In Worcester, he could regularly be seen in the Gym, or walking in Lake Park. He loved listening to Music, his privacy and the solitude of relaxing and meditation. Domeinc was also very proud of his Army service in Germany. A quiet, man who cherished the times he could have his nephews and nieces around him. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Thursday, March 16th from 9:30 to 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. follow by a procession at 11:15 am to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd where his life celebration Mass will be held at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
