Olympia joins her son, Robert J. Fusco and her former husband, Joseph P. Fusco, in Heaven; along with her late sisters, Mary Frangillo and Anna Boyers. She is survived by a son, Joseph P. Fusco, Jr. and his wife Cynthia, with whom she lived; a brother, James G. Boyers of Connecticut; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was born in New Haven, Connecticut, daughter of the late George J. and Charlene (Barker) Boyers. She graduated from Hill House High School in New Haven, and remained in the area, before moving to Worcester in 2001, to join her son Joseph, his wife and their family. She worked for many years as a waitress in the New Haven area, before retiring. She had been a member of the former Saint Margaret Mary Church, and was currently attending Holy Family at Saint Joseph Parish in Worcester. She belonged to the women’s guild at Saint Margaret Mary, and enjoyed writing poetry and playing BINGO. During World War II, Olympia was a “pin-up” model, and her likeness helped many soldiers smile and remember better times at home. The Fusco family would like to thank the many wonderful people at Beaumont, especially those that cared for Olympia on the first and fourth floors. Their love and compassion for Olympia, will be remembered and cherished for years to come. Calling Hours for Olympia will be held on Sunday, March 12, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
