Ming Yuan Wang, 91 of Worcester, formerly of Beijing, China passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at UMass Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Ming was born on February 5, 1926 in Henan, China, where he was raised. He went on to study at Fudan University in Shanghai, and later moved to Beijing where he worked as an import/exporter for the China National Native Produce By-Products Import-Export Corporation for over forty years. He eventually became senior engineer. After his retirement he came to Worcester in 1992, where continued to live until his death. Ming was a hard worker, who liked to relax by reading historical literature and writing informational pieces on various subjects, especially tea. Ming was a thoughtful man who enjoyed reading about current events and listening to/singing Beijing Opera. Amongst his many survivors Ming leaves behind his wife of sixty three years, Wenyu Chen; his son Zaiming Wang and his wife Linghua Zhou of Beijing; his daughter Zaiwen Wang and her husband Feng Yuan of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Xiaoxi Yuan of Seoul, South Korea, Xiaoyan Yuan of Shrewsbury, Xiaohai Yuan of Amherst, and Lina Wang and her husband Xiyu Li of Germany; a sister-in –law, Dr. Wenjuan Chen of Newton; his niece, Dr. Yanni Chen and her husband Dr. Richard Hartman of Coldwater, IL, and his grandnephews, Brandon & Alex Hartman. A period of visitation will be held for Ming on Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester, MA 01605. A Celebration of Ming’s life will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home; followed by burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
