Jane E. (McCue) Magner, RNFNP. 60 Of South Yarmouth formerly of Worcester , died peacefully on Thursday February 16, 2017 after a battle with Cancer surrounded by loved ones. Jane leaves her devoted husband of 35 years George A. Magner Jr. a retired Lieutenant with the Worcester Police Department. She also leaves her brother and sisters, John and Cathy McCue of Hanover and their children Connor and Ryan, Kirsten McCue Toomey and Paul Toomey of West Roxbury and their children Madison and Jillian and Elizabeth McCue Lavoie and Matt Lavoie of Rutland and their children Sarah and Caitlin. Jane was born in Warwick R.I. on November 5, 1956 daughter of Gerard and Philomene (Sheehan) McCue and lived there several years before moving to Marshfield MA, and was raised by her step mother Ann McCue from an early age. She was a graduate of Marshfield High School. After High School Jane moved to Worcester where she met the love of her life George. While living in Worcester Jane began her dedicated career as a Nurse. She graduated from Hahneman Hospital School of Nursing. She then went on to graduate from Worcester State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, she then attended Regis College where she received her Master’s Degree In Nursing. Her final Education came when she received her Geriatric Fellowship from the UMASS Graduate School of Nursing. Jane practiced at the UMASS Memorial Hospital for many years and also the Glavin Center in Shrewsbury before she retired in 2013. Even after retiring she loved working part time for Dr. Julian Moran and Dr. Thomas Patnaude. She was also a part time instructor at the UMASS Graduate School of Nursing. Jane had a warm and beautiful personality and was a dedicated Nurse that loved helping people. She loved the profession of being a Nurse and loved instructing students on how to be the best Nurse with kindness and compassion. After retiring, Jane George and Mini Daisy Mae moved to their beloved Cape house that they had for 35 years, and recently sold their Worcester residence and moved to the Cape full time, but would still travel back to Worcester to work part time and visit with her friends and co-workers. She loved collecting Lucite Pocketbooks. Jane will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Jane’s funeral will be held on Wednesday February 22 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Providence/St Bernards 228 Lincoln St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be on Tuesday February 21, 2017 from 4PM to 7PM.
