Adam S. Balcewicz, 90, of Auburn, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017, at the Saint Francis Home in Worcester. Adam is survived by his wife of nearly sixty-two years, Frances (Caloccia) Balcewicz; a daughter, Laurie Bourn of Westborough; a son, Stephen Balcewicz of Paxton; a brother, Leo Balcewicz of Worcester; six grandchildren; a great grandson; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters, George and Bronislaw Balcewicz, Nellie Shea, Stella Balcewicz, Rose Arnsberg, and Edna Foster. He was born in Worcester, son of the late, George and Valerie (Valentonowicz) Balcewicz, and lived in Worcester most of his life, moving to Auburn seven years ago. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School, later serving his nation proudly in the United States Navy, during World War II. Adam worked as a wire drawer for thirty-three years and the former Johnson Steel and Wire Company, before retiring in 1982. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and the P.N.A. Adam’s family would extends their gratitude to the Hospice team that cared for him. His Funeral will be held privately and there are no Calling Hours. He will be entombed at Saint John’s Mausoleum.
