Alejandro A. "AJ" Lorente

Alejandro A. “AJ” Lorente, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, February 3, 2017 after a tragic accident. AJ was only 11 years old. AJ was born in Worcester on April 30, 2005, the first child to Anthony and Angela M. (Ruppert) Lorente.  He lived in Dudley where he was a sixth-grade student at Dudley Middle School and played soccer for the Dudley Youth Soccer League.  AJ loved family vacations to Wisconsin, fishing, and the Minnesota Vikings.  He especially loved to tease his dad when he got a fish and his dad didn’t. He was a wonderful son and loving big brother. AJ lived a short life but a meaningful one to all that he touched with his big smile and his big heart.  Sadly enough, the most painful goodbyes are the ones that are left unsaid and never explained. Beside his parents Anthony and Angela, AJ is survived by his sister and brother, Izabella and Jacoby Lorente of Dudley; his maternal grandparents, Bradley and Marjorie (Olson) Ruppert of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Carmen (Rivera) Tomlinson of Worcester; his maternal great grandmothers, Elaine Olson and Donna Ruppert both of Minnesota; his paternal great grandmother, Carmen Rivera of Worcester; Three aunts, Traci Ruppert of Eugene, Oregon, Elizabeth Lorente and Rebecca Tomlinson both of Worcester; two uncles, Michael Lorente and his wife Megan of Millbury and Brian Tomlinson of Worcester; many cousins, friends and classmates.  AJ is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Juvencio Lorente. AJ’s Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Saint John’s Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester (please go directly to church.)  Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester.  Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family and say their goodbyes to AJ on Thursday, February 9th from 4-7 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.   In lieu of flowers, kindly consider making contributions in memory of AJ to: Worcester Police Department Credit Union, checks made payable to Anthony Lorente, 805 West Boylston St, Worcester, MA. 01606.  To share your thoughts, memories or prayers with his family, please visit AJ’s personal guestbook at www.mercadantefuneral.com
