Paul F. Hearn, 57, of Worcester, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 with his sisters gathered at his bedside after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Paul is survived by his three sisters, Karen E. Hearn, Lynda F. Cote, Susan Pressey and her husband George. He also leaves a brother in law, Donald Casey Sr. and sister in law Jane Hearn; his longtime childhood friend Attorney Donald Peters; his longtime companion and best friend his dog, Rascal; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A brother, James J. Hearn, Jr., sister, Patricia A. Casey and nephew, James J. Hearn, III all predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, one of six children of James J. Hearn, Sr. and Janet A. (Lemoine) Hearn. He graduated from North High School, where he played football and joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country proudly during the Persian Gulf War. Upon his return from active duty, Paul accepted a position with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW, local 96, where he worked many years for various electrical contractors in the area, including Coughlin and Ostrow Electrical Companies. A non-assuming, simple man Paul was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, enjoyed skydiving, football, cars especially corvettes and hockey. He had a sense of humor that would put all people at ease when he entered the room. Friends and relatives are invited to a period of calling hours, Saturday, February 4th from 9:30 am to 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, followed by his celebration of life service. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in his name can be made to the St John’s Church Food Pantry, 44 Temple St Worcester 01604. Paul’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the Doctors, nurses and staff that cared for Paul at St Vincent Hospital and DaVita Dialysis.
