Carol Ciccarelli, 78, of Fitchburg, formerly of Worcester a quiet simple woman passed away peacefully Sunday, January 29th 2017. Carol was born in Worcester on August 11, 1938, a daughter of Joseph and Assunta “Susie” (Mazzone) Ciccarelli. A young age Carol’s mother Susie passed away unexpectedly. Her grandmother, Mary Ferrazano accepted custody of her and her brother Joseph and raised, supported and cared for them the rest of her life until she passed away. For the past many years her cousins, in particular Sister Loretta Ciccarelli was instrumental in watching over her. Carol is survived by many cousins and extended family members including Sister Loretta. Besides her parents and grandmother; her only brother Joseph Ciccarelli also passed away in 1992. Carol was a simple and quiet woman, who enjoyed music, watching television and shopping. Carol’s funeral will be held Monday, February 6th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a procession to the Church of Saint Anne, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd Shrewsbury where her celebration of life Mass will be held at 11:00 am. Burial with her brother, mother and grandmother will follow in St John Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held in the funeral home from 9:30 am to 10:30 am prior to leaving for church.
