Dora Ann (Galli) Caputo, 85, of Worcester passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 25th 2017 with family gathered at her side. Dora was born in Worcester, one of fourteen children of Paul and Anna (Antinarella) Galli and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade. Dora then began her employed years as a stitcher for Stevens’s sportswear, before accepting a position with the Stop & Shop Supermarkets where she worked many years before retiring. She has lived in Worcester all her life. Dora is survived by two sons, Stephen Caputo, his wife Cathy and their three children of Shrewsbury, Robert Caputo, his wife Andrea and their two children of Cleveland. She is also survived by her sisters, Ida R. Blood of Shrewsbury and Gloria Meola of West Boylston; two brothers, Arthur “Teo” Galli of Sherman Oaks, California and Hugo Galli of Shrewsbury. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who loved her dearly. Besides her parents, Paul and Anna; Dora joins in heaven, three brothers, John, Victor and Domenic Galli and six sisters, Alice Michaud, Mary Trent, Grace Langowski, Viola Dusak , Matilda “Tillie” Holland and Assunta Butler. Dora was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family and friends, family dinners, cooking and baking Italian cookies, bingo, playing cards, and watching television game shows. She truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important aspects of life and she had room in her heart for everyone she met. Dora was very generous with her love, time and resources, and helped anyone she could. Dora’s funeral will be held Saturday, January 28th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 370 Plantation St. with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd where her celebration of life mass will be held at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Mt View Cemetery in Shrewsbury. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am prior to leaving for Church.
