Richard C. “Ricky” Direnzo, Jr. 48, of Worcester passed away unexpectedly in Worcester. Ricky was born in Worcester on February 12, 1968. His father was the late, Richard C. Direnzo, Sr. He grew up and attended North High School. As a young man, Ricky worked for the family business, Direnzo Brothers Sand & Gravel. He then accepted a position with the Laborers Union Local 4, working for several area contractors over several years. Most recently Ricky has been house manager for Jeremiah’s Inn in Worcester helping those less fortunate overcome life’s challenges. Richard is survived by his mother Paula (Devlin) Direnzo-Fenuccio and stepfather Joseph Fenuccio with whom he lived; his sister, Kimberly DiGioia and her husband Gino of Worcester, Brother Joseph Direnzo and his wife Kim of Stafford Springs CT; eight nieces and nephews; many other Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Ricky was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He loved the outdoors , especially hunting, fishing and taking pictures in the woods with his brother and father. He was an accomplished artist, enjoying just sitting and drawing for hours on end. Gardening, music, and the beach were also special. Ricky was a fun loving individual who loved to be around his cousins and family always clowning around and joking to always put a smile on their faces. He will be missed. Ricky’s funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 4th at 11 am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
