Joanne C. (Rizzuti) Scampini, 79 of Worcester, passed away on December 24, 2016 after a short illness at St. Vincent’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. Joanne is survived by her husband, Norman Scampini with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage on November 2nd; her eight children, Debra and Vincent DiGregorio and their sons, Vincent III, Anthony and Michael DiGregorio all of Worcester, Joanne wife of John Largesse of Vermont, her daughter Nicole Scampini of Florida and their daughter Jacklyn Largesse of Vermont, Joseph Scampini and his wife Eileen and their children, Kimberly and Joseph Scampini, Jr., Sandra wife of Mark Stapinski and their children, Mark Jr., Kara, Jenna and Tori Stapinski, Doreen wife of Daniel Friend and their daughters, Patricia-Ann, Briana and Danielle Friend, Linda wife of Robert Vivlamore, Jr. and their children, Courtney, Robert III, Alexandra, Lindsey, and Michael Vivlamore, Brenda wife of Clifton Page and their daughters, Tiana, Taylor and Ariana Page, Michael Scampini and his wife Kristine Carlson-Scampini; four great grandchildren, Justyce, Camrin, Gianna and Brynn, 2 great grandchildren on the way; a brother, Michael Rizzuti and a sister, Lois Buffone all of Worcester; her adorable dog, Sadie; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Patricia Ann Scampini who passed in 1987 and a great granddaughter, Luciana Macaruso who passed in 2013; three sisters, Eleanor Todd, Patricia Pellerin and Janet Iacovone. Joanne was born in Holden, a daughter of the late William and Nellie (Bowns) Rizzuti and attended Commerce High School in Worcester. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family and feeding everyone whom came in her home. Joanne enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and going to the casino with her husband and family. Joanne’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester where she will now be with her beloved daughter. A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 28th from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Flowers are welcome.
