Lisa L. Pacheco, 49, of Sterling, passed away at home, into the arms of her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 5, 2016. Lisa was predeceased by her parents, Manuel A. Pacheco and Marguerite L. (Gaucher) Pacheco, whose eternal love brought forth six children whom they raised in Sterling. The fifth born, Lisa is survived by two brothers, Robert C. and Paul M. Pacheco; two sisters, LeeAnne E. Prendiville and her husband David, Linda M. Kimball and her husband Mark, all of which reside in Sterling. Of the six Pacheco children, Lisa is survived by the youngest daughter, her little sister and lifelong best friend, Laurie Pacheco and her husband who Lisa commonly referred to as her own brother, Victor M. Moniz of Leominster with whom she resided with at the time of her passing. Although Lisa never had children of her own, she leaves behind her niece, Angela M. Pacheco of Leominster with whom her unique relationship blossomed throughout the years into one almost identical of a maternal bond. Lisa was the aunt to four additional nieces and nephews whom she greatly adored, Brittany A. Prendiville, David P. Prendiville, Jr., her godson Steven P. Dufault, and Lauren M. Kimball, all of Sterling. In addition to immediate family, Lisa leaves behind her partner, Kenneth “Coco” Boucher of Barre and her former husband, Albert Rotti III of West Boylston. She leaves behind her aunt and godmother, Mary Ferraro and her husband Joseph of Worcester; two aunts, Gloria and Darlene Pacheco, both of Shrewsbury; two uncles, Ronald Gaucher and his wife Phyllis of Boylston and Henry Benson of Worcester and many cousins, co-workers and close friends. She is predeceased by a nephew, Michael J. Kimball. Lisa was born in Worcester, and lived the majority of her life on the family farm in Sterling. She graduated from St. Peter Marian Central Catholic High School in 1985 and later attended Quinsigamond Community College where she received her associate’s degree in criminal justice. Lisa began her career working at the Worcester District Court House, Probation Department for many years. Lisa and her sisters, Linda and Laurie received training and certification with M.E.C.T.A.; Massachusetts Emergency Care Training Agency, under the instruction of Linda J. Gosselin. Upon completion, Lisa, Linda and Laurie all became EMTs and joined Sterling Firefighter’s Ambulance Service in Sterling. In 1996, Lisa embraced her immense love of animals when she opened her own pet store, Lisa’s Pet Emporium in West Boylston. In 2001, Lisa applied to the Federal Bureau of Prisons where she successfully passed a series of both physically and mentally demanding exams to obtain employment with the Department of Justice, Federal Medical Center at Devens, where she was currently employed at the time of her passing. Lisa’s true passion in life was her love of animals, predominantly that of horses. She loved horseback riding, target shooting, trips to the casino, gardening and walks to the lake with her dog, Bella. Calling hours for Lisa will be held on Monday, December 12, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, December 13th from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St., Sterling.
