Patricia (Viens) Inangelo, 78, of Rutland a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on December 7th, 2016, surrounded by the ones she loved after a courageous battle against Pancreatic Cancer. Pat was born in Worcester, one of two daughters of Russell and Christine (Ferraro) Viens, and graduated from Commerce High School. Pat and John were married at Stephens Church on April 29, 1961, and for the next 55 years they lived a life of love, devotion and dedication raising their family. Patricia worked for 25 years for the City of Worcester School Department, holding several positions before retiring in 2000 as Federal Programs Parent Liaison. She was affectionally known as Aunty Patty. She served several terms on the Board of Directors of the Education Association of Worcester. She graduated from Broms Academy and was a hair stylist for several years. She formally worked as a Supervisor for New England Telephone. Pat leaves the family she dearly loved; her husband, John; children John J. Jr and his wife Jodi of North Andover. Robert and his life partner Darlene Jarnagan of Warren, Lisa Preston and her husband Brian of Rutland, Gina Casey and her husband John of Daytona Beach Florida. Traci Premo and her husband Michael of Ashburn Virginia; her sister and best friend Kathleen DiCicco of Groton. Her husband, children and grandchildren always came first in her life no matter what. She was loved and adored by her grandchildren who fondly called her Grammy. Philip and Kyle Ward, Alex and Rachel Inangelo, Jessica, Kelsey, Morgan and Erin Preston, Jenna, Brooke and Katie Premo, she also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. Patricia was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. She was President of the Friends of Rutland Council on Aging and always enjoyed many programs at the Senior Center. She always looked forward to her third Thursday luncheon friends and her Friday luncheon group of friends for over 40 years. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family and friends and most of all her traveling and vacation time with John and family. Pat truly believed that faith, family and friends were most important. She was very generous with her love, time and resources, and helped anyone she could. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours, Sunday, December 11th, 2016 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in the MERCANDANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Monday, December 12th from the funeral home at 10:15 am a procession to St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main St., Rutland, where her celebration of life mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Worcester Memorial Park in Paxton. .
