Rose (Brescia) Patnod, 85, of Worcester passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday December 4th 2016. Rose, one of four children of Francesco and Angelina (Capurso) Brescia was born, educated and has lived in Worcester all her life. Rose worked more than 28 years for the former Bradlees Department Store before retiring. She is survived by her four children; Her son David Patnod with whom she lived and his fiancée Carolyn Moore, Debra Perrone and her husband Vincent of Boylston, Denise Patnod and her husband Franco DeAngelis of Watertown, Diane Patnod-Mader and her husband Greg of Newbury Park, California; her two sisters, Julia Ritacco of Worcester and Isabella DiMauro of Sterling; a sister in law, Joyce DiRosa; her former husband, Donald Patnod; eight grandchildren, Francesca and her husband John Person, Jacob, Vincent, Ricky, Joshua, Samuel, Kendall and Ryan; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her parents, a brother, Vincent Brescia predeceased her. Rose was a member of St Anne Church, the Our Lady of Mt Carmel, Golden Years, Our Lady of Sorrows Society and the former St Margaret Mary Church. She loved to ballroom dance and whenever possible found a place to do so. Fridays & Saturdays at the Wonderland Ballroom in Revere and Mosleys on the Charles in Dedham were Roses favorite ballrooms. Rose in her life found her children and grandchildren to be her inspiration. Her unwavering faith kept her grounded and helped her through life's challenges and she truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important aspects in her life. She had room in her heart for everyone she met. Rose’s passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will never be forgotten. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Friday, December 9th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be celebrated, Saturday morning December 10th from the funeral home with a procession to St Anne’s church, 130 Boston Turnpike Road, Shrewsbury where her celebration of life mass will be held at 10:00 am. Burial in the family lots will follow in St John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Anne Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. 01545.
