Nicholas A. Renzoni, Jr. 67 of Worcester, devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 21st 2016 after being stricken ill at home. Nicholas was born in Worcester, one of seven children of Nicholas A. Renzoni, Sr. and Louise (Szuba) Renzoni and has lived here all his life. In 1971, Nick married the love of his life and best friend Kathleen M. Bent. They settled in Worcester to raise their family over the next 45 years. Nick worked over 18 years for the Walmart Corporation as a department manager for various stores before retiring from the Leominster facility 5 years ago. In addition, he spent over 20 years as an ASA umpire. Nick is survived by his wife Kathleen; his two sons, Anthony M. Renzoni and his wife Jennifer of Holden, Joseph A. Renzoni and his wife Amy of West Boylston; five siblings, Barbara Engwall and Patricia Auger both of Worcester, Richard Renzoni of Millbury, Michael Renzoni and LuAnn Pacenka both of Holden; 10 grandchildren he adored; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. A sister, Carol Ann “Cookie” Lawson pre deceased him. Nick was an active and dedicated member of the Brown Square Civic Association. In addition to trips to the casino, he loved to golf and play cards with his family and friends. Weekends often included keeping up with his favorite sports teams, including the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and the New York Football Giants. His ten grandchildren brought much joy to his life. He especially enjoyed supporting them with their activities and spending time with them. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Friday, November 25th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A prayer service will follow at 4:00 pm followed by a reception at the White Eagle Club, 118 Green Street, Worcester.
