Victoria B. (Ayik) Bicknell

September 23, 1923 — November 16, 2016

Victoria Barbara (Ayik) Bicknell, 93, passed away on November 16, 2016.  She was born Sept.23, 1923 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Mary and Salem Ayik.   She is survived by her 3 children, Ronald and Richard Danshire , daughter Barbara Tyner and her grandchildren Aaron and Andrew. She is preceded in death by her husband Malcolm Bicknell, her brothers Norman and George Ayik and is survived by her brothers Baheege and Henry Ayik and sisters Lynn Steeves, Najala Lindquist, and Adele Svendson.  Victoria graduated as a seamstress from Girls Trade School and retired from Memorial Hospital as the manager of the Coffee Shop.  She loved to play the slot machines at Foxwoods and loved being with her friends and family.  Her face would light up whenever she was with her children and her brothers and sisters whom she adored   She had an enormous personality and friendly smiles and will be sorely missed. Visitation will be Monday November 21, from 9:30-11:00 at St. George’s Orthodox Cathedral 30 Anna Street, followed by a service celebrating her life at 11am.   She will be buried at Hope Cemetery. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. is assisting the family with Victoria’s funeral arrangements.
