Rose Marie Schraffa passed away into eternal life after an extended period of declining health on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 with her loved ones by her side. Rose Marie was born on May 30th 1945 in Worcester, daughter of the late Patsy and Mary (Minichello) Schraffa. She graduated from Classical High School in Worcester; then accepted a position in the Medical records department of Fairlawn hospital, before going to work for Dr Stanley Kocot, as office manager in his Worcester Office many years, eventually working for the Fallon Healthcare till she retired. She is survived by her brother, Louis Schraffa and his wife Paula whom she considered her sister of Millbury; Two nieces, a nephew and their children, who were the lights of her life; Jodi Duquette, her husband John and their children Kelli and Nicole of Webster, Michael Schraffa, his wife Lori and their children, Kate-Lynn and Jeremy of Oxford, Susan Cote, her husband Armand and their children A.J. and Michelle of Upton; A godchild and cousin, Diane Brophy and her husband Paul of Douglas, extended family members and friends. In her younger years, Rose Marie traveled extensively, getting the opportunity to visit many different countries. She was always proud of her Italian heritage, an active member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, where she volunteered at the festivals, parish events and assisted in the parish office. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of CareOne in Millbury for their care, compassion, friendship and love so many showed to Rose Marie, especially her CNA’s, Erin, & Kristina, Nurses Lori and Martina as well as the caring staff from Trinity Hospice, Mandy and Rachael. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Sunday, November 6th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Monday, November 7th from the funeral home with a procession to St Mark’s Church, 356 Boston Road, Sutton where her celebration of life Mass will be held at 11:00 am.
