Lucia (Melucci) Reno, 85, formerly of Worcester, peacefully departed Sunday, October 30th 2016 in Orlando Florida with her son Steven and his wife Lillian at her side. Lucia, born in Worcester, was one of two daughters of Joseph and Mary (Cataldo) Melucci, and lived her entire life in Worcester raising her family and working before moving to Florida in 2014 to be in the care of Steven and Lillian. Lucia’s husband of 63 years Robert S. Reno passed away almost two years ago to the day on October 27th 2014. Lucia possessed a strong and uncompromising faith in God, and love for her family. Lucia is survived by three sons, Robert J. Reno and his wife Susan of Dudley, Steven J. Reno and his wife Lillian of Ocoee Florida, and John M. Reno and his wife Lorie of Houston, Texas; her loving sister, Rosemary (Melucci) Albrizio wife of Eugene of Shrewsbury; numerous Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren; Nieces, Nephews, extended family and friends. Notably gifted in Music, Lucia worked for the Diocese of Worcester as music director in various churches in Worcester and Grafton before retiring. She was also a corporate executive of many years for the Mc Donald’s Corporation in the New England district offices, and was a Sales Associate for various area Jewelers. Lucia graduated from Commerce High School in 1950 with Class Vocalist honors. She was a former President of the Worcester Police Wives association. Lucia was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel and Our Lady of Loreto Churches. Family and friends are invited to a period of calling hours Saturday, November 5th from 8:30 to 9:30 am in THE MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. followed by a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial next to her husband will follow in St John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 229 Kent St, Brookline, MA 02446.
