Lois Marie (Rogers) Wheeler, 69 of Webster, formerly of Oxford passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Saint Vincent Hospital surrounded by her adoring family after a courageous battle with cancer. Lois was born in Worcester on August 3, 1947, the only child of Louis W. and Grace M. (Caruso) Rogers. She was raised in Oxford and graduated from Oxford high school in 1965. After high school Lois went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science at Becker Junior College. During her time at Becker College Lois met the love of her life Richard F. Wheeler, Sr. who she married on June 15, 1968 and celebrated over 48 years of happiness together. Lois worked as a secretary for Travelers Insurance Company before her retirement in 2008; prior to that she also work as a secretary for American Optical in Southbridge and also as a school bus driver for the towns of Webster and Dudley while she was raising her family. Lois loved to spend time near the ocean, especially during her trips with her family to Hampton Beach each summer. Lois was also an avid doll collector and an active member of a Doll Collecting Club. Throughout her life, Lois stayed in contact with her childhood friends Susan, Janet and Maureen and she always looked forward to their annual reunions of the “Carron Lane Girls”. In addition to her husband Richard F. Wheeler, Lois is also survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn M. Jankowski of Webster; her son, Richard F. Wheeler, Jr. and his spouse Amy of Winthrop; two granddaughters, Angela M. Jankowski of Dudley and Lola Wheeler of Winthrop and her best friend, Ivy Perez. All funeral services will be held privately on a later date at the family’s convenience.
