Esther (Santa Maria) Nozzolillo

Esther (Santa Maria) Nozzolillo, a devoted mother and grandmother passed away with the family she cherished gathered by her side Friday, October 21st 2016.   She was 85 years of age.   Esther on of eleven children of Italian immigrants Angelo and Nancy (Bisceglia) Santa Maria was born in Worcester, lived and educated in Worcester.  In 1952, Esther married Vincent “Jim” Nozzolillo and together lived in Worcester raising their family for the next 57 years before Vincent passed away in 2010.  Esther worked as an assembler for Micro Network Systems until retiring.  She is survived her four devoted sons, Victor, and James Nozzolillo both of Worcester, Vincent Nozzolillo with whom she lived, Mark Nozzolillo and his wife Anne of Woodstock, CT; a daughter in law, Elaine Nozzolillo of Millbury; six grandchildren she found life’s enjoyment with James, Jared, Miles and Dallas Nozzolillo, Talon and Quinton Asquith; five great grandchildren, Joshua, Quinton, Skiilar, Lily and Emmitt.  Esther also leaves her six siblings, sisters, Rose Puleo and Annette Santa Maria both of Worcester, Nellie Martone of Shrewsbury and Annie DiVerdi of West Boylston; brothers, John Santa Maria of Millbury and Joseph Santa Maria of Uxbridge;  Many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.   In addition to her husband Vincent, a sister Mary Rucci and three brothers, Matteo, Michael and Frank Santa Maria pre deceased her.  Esther was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church.  She enjoyed, Puzzles, the beach, baking, old movies and socializing with her friends at the Condominium Complex.   She enjoyed caring for her family, loved to bake Italian Cookies and have everyone around her.   Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Thursday, October 27th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.  Her funeral will be held Friday, October 28th from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.   Burial next to her husband will follow in St. John Cemetery.
