Joan A. White

Joan A. (Boyle) White, 80 of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Saint Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Joan is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert J. White; her son, Robert J. White, Jr. , his wife Michelle of Worcester; three daughters, Nancy J. Golas and her husband David of Boylston, Michelle A. Olivieri and her husband Anthony of Worcester, and Lisa M. Austin of Shrewsbury; a sister, Marion Giedrys of Rhode Island; twelve grandchildren, Sergeant First Class Matthew Golas and his wife Mayumi, Jonathan Golas and his wife Laura, Elizabeth Olivieri and her fiancé, Nicholas Padavano, Sara and Jennifer Olivieri, Kevin Austin and his wife Amanda, Amber Smith and her husband Trai, Adam and Sabrina Austin, Tatumn White and her fiancé Vinnie Coraccio, Rhiannon and Autumn White and eight great grandchildren all of whom she loved very much; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two siblings, Earl Boyle, Jr. and Barbara Jefferson. Joan was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of the late Earl and Anna (Brennan) Boyle, Sr. and graduated from Commerce High School.  After marrying her husband Robert they moved to Shrewsbury where they have lived for the past 56 years.  Joan worked as a cashier for the former Spag’s for many years. She later worked as a cafeteria aide for Sherwood Middle School in Shrewsbury.  In her spare time, she volunteered at the Shrewsbury Senior Center.  Joan was a member of Saint Anne’s Church where she was an active member in the church choir.  She loved spending summers camping at Old Orchard Beach, Ma. A period of calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon followed by her funeral service at 12 noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: In the name of Sadie Laflamme to International Foundation for CDKL5 Research, Attn: Donation, P.O.
