John P. “Jack” Sullivan, 55, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016. He is survived by his sister, Caroline M. Sullivan; an aunt, Rita Hassett; an uncle, Edward P. Roche; many cousins including, Carolyn Moore, and Diane Lizewski, who he considered sisters, all of Worcester. Jack also leaves many friends. He was born in Worcester, son of the late, John F. and Ann J. (Kawcab) Sullivan. He was a graduate of South High School and attended Worcester State College. Jack received a certificate in nutrition from Becker College and attended Salter College where he studied to become a Certified Medical Assistant. Jack worked for many years at Fairlawn Hospital/Rehab in the nutrition Department. He retired recently from UMass after having worked as a Medical Assistant, for various sites in the UMass system and other medical offices in the area, where he enjoyed caring for patients and their families. With an amazing memory, Jack was the family historian and if given a date he was able to tell you the day it fell on and any other events that occurred that day. Jack was a generous and kind person who loved spending time with family, friends, and his cats. He will be greatly missed. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, October 20, from 4 p.m. until his Funeral Service begins at 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
