Anthony J. “Tony” Mazzapica, 28, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at home. Tony is survived by his father, Joseph R. Mazzapica and his significant other Diane Girouard of Hubbardston; his mother and step-father, Paula J. (Landry) Inch and James Inch of Millbury; his partner of seven years, Christopher McCoy of Billerica; two brothers, Joshua M. Surette of Amherst and Brett Girouard of Hubbardston; two sisters, Carly J. Gonynor and her husband Matthew of Millbury and Megan Girouard of Hubbardston; his paternal grandmother, Barbara (Hughes) Mazzapica of Brookline; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann (Segien) Landry of Waltham; nieces and nephew, Jayde Surette, Jordan and Nicholas Gonynor; two uncles, Stephen Mazzapica and his significant other, Yelena Romanova of Ashland and Richard J. Landry and his wife Rhonda of Framingham; four aunts, Joanne McDonald and her husband Bernie of Sharon, Christine Landry, Linda Landry and her significant other Ron Mattos and Elizabeth Auger all of Waltham; many cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Mazzapica, his maternal grandfather, Paul J. Landry; and an uncle, John Landry. Tony was born in Boston, and grew up in Shrewsbury and Rutland. He went to Wachusett District Schools and later received his cosmetology certification. Tony was a hairdresser and stylist for Nicholas Michaels in Northborough. He previously worked for Salon De La Rosa in West Boylston. Tony loved pop culture movies, black and white films, Betty Davis, Amy Winehouse, John Waters’s movies, Mercedes Benz, cooking and his dog “Honey.” He enjoyed making people look beautiful and always claimed to have the “Hands of an Angel.” A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
