Anthony M. Covotta jr. 87, of Worcester passed away with family by his side, Monday, October 11, 2016. Tony was born in Worcester; his parents were Italian immigrants, Anthony M. Covotta Sr and Raffaela (DeDonato) Covotta. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Tony worked for the City of Worcester DPW many years before retiring. Anthony is survived by his niece and caregiver Susan Reynolds and her husband Robert, their children Michael and Katherine, two sons, Anthony Covotta and Michael Covotta, a grandson Anthony Covotta, Maureen Mitchell and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. All of whom were there by his side in his last hours. Two sisters Elizabeth, Patricia, and three brothers John, Paul, And Joseph per deceased him. Anthony was a member of the Pope John XXIII, Counsel Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. Anthony’s funeral will be held Saturday, October 15th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am Saturday in the funeral home.
