A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. The world was brighter for many generous gifts we all received from Wendy. Wendy K. (Majcher) O’Connor, 65, of Shrewsbury died with her family at her side in Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital of Westborough the morning of September 22, 2016. Her beloved husband of 40 years passed away on May 2, 2014. Wendy was born on November 24, 1950 in Worcester to the late Thaeddeus & Geraldine (Blockland) Majcher. She was a graduate of Burncoat High School, and went on to get her Bachelors in Nursing from Memorial Hospital. Wendy is survived by her two sons, Patrick J. O'Connor and his wife Maylen and Ryan T. O’Connor and his partner Linda Brown, all of Shrewsbury; three sisters, Susan Sachs and her husband Arthur, Gloria Triola of Shrewsbury and Robin Majcher of Oakham; John Moore and Tony Russell whom she treated like her own sons and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wendy worked as a RN for over thirty years in various Hospitals including UMASS Memorial Hospital – University Campus where she retired in 2014. She cared deeply for the people she worked with and treated them like family. She enjoyed many adventures with her close friends from the hospital. Family was so important to Wendy, she appreciated time with everyone. Services for Wendy will be held Tuesday, September 27th from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, with a Mass at 11a.m. in Saint John's Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately. A period of calling hours will be held Monday, September 26th from 4 – 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
