Anna (Titta) Savastano

March 12, 1921 — September 14, 2016

Anna (Titta) Savastano, of Leicester formerly of Worcester passed away home to the Lord, Wednesday, September 14th 2016 with the family she loved gathered at her side.   Anna was born in Worcester, one of seven children of Italian immigrants Peter and Carmella (Venetti) Titta.  She grew up in Worcester and at the age of 24, married the “Love of her Life” for the next 64 years,  Paul Savastano.  They settled in the Bell Hill neighborhood where they raised their family with love and devotion and moved to Cherry Valley in 2005.  Her husband Paul passed away in 2009.   Anna had worked for the Chase Vending Company over 15 years before retiring.  She is survived by her two children, Joyce Barbale and her husband John N. Barbale, Jr. of Auburn and Paul J. Savastano of Worcester; her three grandchildren she found so much enjoyment with Paul T. Savastano, Shawn Barbale and Wendy Crockett; three great-grandchildren whom she adored, Lauren, Olivia and Daniel; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including Peggy her dear friend and roommate for the past year at Life Care Center of Auburn.  Besides her husband Paul, Anna was pre-deceased by three sisters, Corrine Mancuso, Rita Titta, and Grace Miller, and three brothers, James, David and Lawrence Titta.  Anna was a founding member of Christ Baptist Church. A member of its Dorcas Society, Choir, and ministries volunteer.   A traditional Italian mother, who truly believed that her husband, children, grandchildren and faith always came before herself and remained devoted to them throughout her life.  As the backbone of her family; she was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of church, family and friends in her life.   The most precious times in Anna’s life were those when her family was around her at special occasions, holidays and family dinners.   She was once a Cub Scout den mother. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 17th at 10:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.  Burial next to her husband will follow in Hope Cemetery.   A period of calling hours will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ Baptist Church, 24 Granby Rd Worcester 01604.   The Savastano family would like to especially thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff of the Life Care Center of Auburn for the exceptional care, comfort and compassion they gave to Anna.
