Maria (Caramiello) Biscardi, 91, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016, in the tender care of her daughter and the caring staff at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and The Jewish Health Care Hospice. Maria was born in Capua, Italy, daughter of the late, Raffaele and Vincenza (Vilardi) Caramiello. She came to live in the United States in 1966. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joseph W. Biscardi and their daughter, Maria A. Biscardi Roche and her partner William Horan; her grandson, Marc Roche all of Worcester; two brothers, Carlo and Salvatore Caramiello; two sisters, Rita Caramiello-Perchiacca and Giuseppina Caramiello-Nuzzolo all of Italy and many nieces and nephews and all her extended family members in Italy. She is predeceased by her brother Giuseppe Caramiello. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Maria’s life was her family, and they filled her life with joy and happiness, especially her grandson, Marc. She was a woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and aides from both the Jewish Health Care Center and from Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care, comfort and compassion they gave Maria. A special thank you to Maria’s home health aide, Kim Fernandez who selflessly gave her time and support to care for Maria. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Tuesday, September 13th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, September 14th from the funeral home with a procession to St. George Church, 40 Brattle Street in Worcester where her Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
