Robert Joseph Guertin, 66 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2016 at home surrounded by his family after a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Bob leaves his wife and best friend of 42 years, Suzanne C. (Bartlett) Guertin; his son, Matthew Guertin and his wife Jessica; three grandchildren, Carter, Callie and Logan; his sister, Janet Williams and her husband Robert of West Sand Lake, NY; a sister-in-law, Gale Mulligan of Florida; two brothers-in-law, William Bartlett of Worcester and Richard Bartlett and his wife Susan of South Carolina; a nephew, Jeffrey Williams and his wife Molly of New York; a niece, Jennifer Bartlett of North Carolina. Bob is predeceased by his brother-in-law, Michael Mulligan. Bob was born in Worcester, the son to the late Louis and Rita (Prunier) Guertin. Bob was a truck driver for Omer E. Prunier & Sons for over twenty five years and later founded his own vending company retiring in 2010. Bob was a member of the Worcester Eagles Arie 4311 for many years. He loved cruising with his family and spending 33 summers in Wells, Maine. Bob also loved to cook, especially at St. Stephen's Church and the Eagles with his best bud, Jim Barbone. Bob’s funeral service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bob’s family on Thursday, September 1st from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers or any charitable contribution, Bob has asked and would rather you take your best friend out and reminisce about all the good times you had together or even times that you spent with Bob.
