Josephine A. (Malcangi) Baril, 78, of Southbridge, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty-four years, John R. Baril, this past October 2015. Josephine is survived by two sons, John Baril of Millbury, and Robert Baril and his wife Dalaine of Sturbridge; a daughter, Rozlyn Davis and her fiancé Dmetrios Abbott of Southbridge; a sister, Rosalie Fratantonio of West Boylston; a granddaughter, Madison Baril; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy Baril, two grandchildren, John Daniel Davis and Danielle Marie Davis, and by her sister, Rhea Marusak. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Vincent and Mary Malcangi. Josephine worked beside her husband, as they founded and operated Baril Oil Company. They worked together for many years, before retiring to enjoy traveling in their RV. She enjoyed knitting, making Italian specialties, and creating great treasures in ceramics. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and enjoyed the love of her family. Calling Hours for Josephine will be held on Friday morning, August 26, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession to an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment in Worcester County Memorial Park, will be held privately.
