James B. O’Brien, 44, of Florida, formerly of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at UMass Hospital in Worcester. James is survived by his loving mother, Rita (Toscano) O’Brien of Worcester; a brother, John F. O’Brien, III and his wife Brenda of Worcester; a sister, Colleen O’Brien Rosales and her husband Benjamin of Sutton; three nieces Brigitte Dunagan, Gabrielle Rosales, and Kallie O’Brien; his God son, Jacob Roche of Peabody; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and did we say aunts? James was born in Worcester, son of the late, John O’Brien, Jr. He graduated from Holy Name High School and later received a Degree in Business Administration from Nichols College. He lived most of his life in Worcester, before moving to south Florida in 2002. He worked for several companies in south Florida as a client development executive. James enjoyed staying physically fit, he was a runner, weight lifter, and competed in and won many power lifting competitions. He was a fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He loved life and spending quality time with his family. James believed in helping others whether it was by lending a hand, offering advice, or his final, most generous gift, of being an organ donor. Through his foresight of being an organ donor, he was able to make a difference in the lives of several people and their families, in the New England area. Calling Hour for James will be on Monday, August 15, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession to a Funeral Mass at 12 Noon in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester.
