Edward A. Boltruczyk, 86, of Worcester died peacefully on Friday August 5, 2016 at home with his loving family. Edward is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Jane E. (Rabidou) Boltruczyk, two sons, John E. Boltruczyk of Sutton, and Peter A. Boltruczyk of Holden. Two sisters Helen Paquet and Florence Randell, both of Worcester. Edward was the proud grandfather to Cheryl, Jake, Zack, Kailey, and Samuel. He also leaves several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Stella Mezynski, and Jean Dumas. Edward was born in Worcester son of the late Anthony and Hedwig (Kowalewski) Boltruczyk and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Commerce High School class of 1952. Edward served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a veteran of WWll and the Korean War as a Gunner’s Mate. He served on the Aircraft Carrier USS Bairoko and the destroyer USS Henry W. Tucker. He witnessed the testing of the Atomic Bomb in Aniwetok in the Pacific, Operation Sandstone. Edward worked many years for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and was the Store Manager at Demers Tire Company. He also worked for the City of Worcester School Dept. until retiring in 2007. Edward and Jane were members of St. Catherine of Sweden Church for over 55 years until it closed. He was a life time member of the Polish American Veterans, and the Tin Can Sailors and the USS Bairoko Veterans groups. Edward was a humble man who loved being with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A celebration to honor Ed’s life will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5PM to 8PM in Val’s Restaurant, 75 Reservoir Street in Holden.
