Kathleen A. “Katie” (O’Leary) Rubio, 57 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2016. Katie is survived by her son, Justin M. Rubio and his wife Tanya with whom she lived; her mother, Alice T. (Levesauskas) O’Leary of Worcester; three brothers, Larry Stalmok and his wife Janice of Paxton, Patrick O’Leary and his wife Mary and Michael O’Leary all of Worcester; four sisters, Peggy Roche and her husband Mark of Auburn, Jane McGrath and her husband Jay of Paxton, Ann Hehir of Auburn and Betty O’Leary of Worcester; two beloved grandchildren, Jayden and Elleigh Rubio of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She is predeceased by her father, Michael F. O’Leary and her former husband Frederick T. Rubio. Katie was born in Worcester where she graduated from North High School. She worked as an administrative assistant for Verizon for 30 years before she retired in December of 2014. Katie was a member of the former Saint Margaret Mary’s Church. She was a hard worker, loved spending time with her grandchildren, occasional trips to the casino, and summers at the beach in particular Old Orchard Beach. Katie will forever be remembered by her family as a loving soul, an amazing mother and grandmother and a wonderful daughter and sister. Services for Katie will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, Massasoit Rd., Worcester. Burial will be held privately. Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Friday, August 5th from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
