Micaelle (Montreuil) Helvetius, 80, of South Lancaster, passed on home to the Lord and Savior, Thursday, July 28th 2016. Micaelle was born in Cap-Hatien, Haiti, a daughter of Jean-Baptiste Zabulon Missillon Montreuil and Rosemarie Angelique (Marthol) Montreuil. At the young age of 29, an Educator in Haiti, Micaelle left her homeland and immigrated to the United States. She enrolled in Montachusett Technical High School and then enrolled at Fisher College where she earned a certificate as a Medical Surgical Technician. She has worked many years as a nurse’s aide in various locations, most notably as a medical surgical technician at Clinton Hospital for 10 years before retiring. Micaelle is survived by her five children, Feltre Helvetius in Haiti, Daniel Helvetius and his wife Laurie in Killeen Texas, Quetheline Helvetius-Lanza and her husband John of Pensacola, Florida, Linhelle Helvetius-Charles with whom she lived, Marilyn Helvetius-Johnson and her husband James of Wichita falls Texas; a sister, Berthe Myrtil in Brooklyn; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A brother Eduard Montreuil pre deceased her. Micaelle was a member of the Bethel Haitian Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Clinton and a faithful participant on many Prayer lines. She loved baking and would provide neighbors, church members and community with plenty of delicious baked goods. Micaelle loved to travel, crochet and her flower garden. She always had a smile on her face for all and found special joy in the daily flowers from her garden, which Linhelle would display in the house. Services for Micaelle will be held Sunday, July 31st at 1:00 pm in the MERCADANTE Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. Worcester. A period to pay respects will be held from 12 noon to 1:00 pm in the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Queens New York.
