Christina (Padilla) Diaz, 80, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Worcester. She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-seven years, Jacinto Diaz; three sons, Jacinto Diaz, Jr. of Orland, Josue Diaz, and Eliezer Diaz, both of Worcester; four daughters, Minerva Aulet of Worcester, Esther Diaz of Worcester, Raquel Watkins of Holden, and Noemi Gonzalez of Worcester; three sister in Puerto Rico; twenty-one grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Eliseo Diaz and by several brothers. Christina was born in San German, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late, Jose and Marcelina (Flores) Padilla. She grew up and was educated in Puerto Rico, before moving her in 1974. Family and her devout faith were the cornerstones of her life. She loved to be with family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren filled her heart with joy and love. Calling Hours for Christina will be held on Thursday, July 28, from 9 a.m. until the opening prayer of her Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
