Matthew L. Bisceglia. 65, a life time resident of Shrewsbury, died peacefully Thursday July 21, 2016 in the UMASS Memorial Hospital after a short illness surrounded by loved ones. Matt leaves his loving family, two brothers; Joseph J Bisceglia and his wife Sharon of Holden, and Mark Bisceglia of Shrewsbury, a nephew Anthony Bisceglia, and a niece Kaitlyn Ledoux-Bisceglia, aunts, uncles,and cousins. Matthew was born in Worcester son of the late Joseph and Kathleen (Hanks) Bisceglia and lived in Shrewsbury all his life. Matthew was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School, Fitchburg State College, Mass College of Art, Assumption College, and Rutgers University where he received his Master’s Degree in Fine Arts. Matthew was a former member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Shrewsbury. His Mother was a founding member of that Congregation. Matt had a passion for the Arts. He was an Art Teacher at several Worcester Schools. He loved painting and has had his work on display at various locations, most recently at the Jewish Healthcare Center. Mathew loved music and was a Soloist at many area Churches at funerals. He enjoyed Antique shopping, and being with his family. Mathew was a member of Arts Worcester and also the Shrewsbury Artist Guild and was active at the Jewish Community Center. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Matt’s funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00AM in the Trinity Episcopal Church 440 Main St. in Shrewsbury. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 4PM to 7PM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Interment will be with his parents in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
